Bespoke and unique carved lamps

TIQUE LIGHTS-THE STORY
I was born in Zimbabwe, with a background in graphic design, illustration and interior decorating, before becoming a full time art teacher.
Unfortunately the economic and political upheaval finally forced us to seek greener pastures.(Of course it does not come much greener than The Emerald Isle) and in 2008,never having set foot out of Africa, and with just a suitcase each, my family landed in Caledon ,Co. Tyrone to begin our new lives.
Five years on, after dabbling in various creative activities, the idea for Tique Lights emerged. Initially all lamps were completely hand crafted and each design personalised creating this wonderful form of illuminated artwork.

Much research, experimentation and self doubt followed but when the perfect pipes, bases and initial design were ready, I was hooked!
The Stag lamp, inspired by the countryside around Caledon became my first design, and is still a firm favourite, but I am always looking to push the boundaries and find the limits of this absorbing and rewarding art form.
We have now invested in a cnc machine to help with cutting of our most popular designs,but they are still being made in my little kitchen,with the finer details and delicate finishing done by hand.
The real magic happens in the dark, and I still get a rush each time I flick the switch on a new lamp, and see the design thrown into stark silhouette against a glowing background.
Each and every piece is made with love and care, and the designs constantly evolve and improve.
So when you purchase a Tique lamp,and you flick that switch for the first time in a darkened room ....it may well take your breath away!
