Eco-friendly, fun and geeky handcrafted gifts

Hello! My name is Sophie and I live in Edinburgh with my husband, Tom, and two cats, Mudgie and Monkey.

I've been sewing since I was a little girl. I learnt on my mum's hand-cranked Singer and have been addicted ever since. I started off making lace-trimmed, lavender pouches and have come on a little way in the meantime. I've upgraded machines a bit too. My beloved Pfaff 4.2 Select is my main machine and he's called Holmes. I have Watson, a Singer Confidence, as my back up machine and Marley, my first electric machine which my mum bought me for my birthday a long time ago. He's mainly a museum piece now though. I also have a Pfaff Hobbylock for when I make clothing.

I have been interested in the environment for most of my life. I have a degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology and after teaching for 16 years, I have developed a passion for designing and creating eco-friendly and more sustainable products. I gave up teaching last year to focus on this and have not looked back.

I am constantly looking for new and better ways to reduce the plastic content of my products as well as indulging in my 100% geeky nature.

I can't wait to see what I get to make next!
