I first picked up a needle and thread when I was about 12 and have never put them down as it has always been my favourite pastime. Sewing is an engrossing and appreciated creative outlet and it has proved very useful through the years.
Now I sew for the joy of it. Anything is on the to do list and dressmaking, upholstery, patchwork quilting and rug making are current.
I am currently concentrating on bag making, because it can combine beautiful fabrics with engineering! You can design your own bag to suit your need, who wants the same carrier, tote or messenger as everyone else?
I have a larger sewing space now since moving house. I made sure of that when doing our research! Now I am starting to get back on track with my projects.
I try to be as aware of the reuse recycle policy as I can, and re cut denims pleather and leather, sometimes jute sacking to remake into hand luggage and bags. You will find recycled fabrics such as denims and pleather/leather used in my listings and I always explain when this happens.
