Hi I'm Ray and do watercolours in a loose impressionistic style

I'm 67 and since retiring from my job as a ticket seller for London Underground Ive been able to spend more time on my lifetime hobby of painting and sketching.
I like doing street scenes from life and as I live a short train ride from the centre of London I have plenty of subject matter to keep me busy and active.

While I was working I amassed a lot of sketches of around the 'Square Mile' area and was forced into the habit of making quick sketches as I was probably on my meal break. This turned out to be good practice as it made me concentrate on the big picture and not worry too much about fussy details . My style is now naturally loose and quick.

On this platform I hope to offer a variety of subjects in watercolour and pen and ink , and in a choice of formats - originals, prints, and digital prints.
