Hi, my name is Marcel and I have a small workshop in the beautiful Beverley, a market town and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Every day I spend a few hours there trying to create something unique.
I take pride in handcrafting every piece to the best of my ability and I can only hope you treat it with the same respect I do.
Everything I learned so far was self-taught, reading loads of books, watching videos, and the most important part – practicing daily.
Having tried many clays, decided to use porcelain as my raw material. Porcelain clay is perhaps the most renowned form of clay for creating delicate objects such as fine bone china or figurines.
Every piece is individually hand thrown on the potters wheel, starting from a ball of porcelain clay. Pieces dry completely in about a week, after that, they are separately glazed for a unique look. Fired twice in a kiln at above 1200 degrees Celsius, for extra strength and durability. From start from finish, the entire creating process takes around 10-12 days.
