Crafting gorgeous silver rings from antique spoons

10 years ago I finished my BA in Fine Art in London, the creative itch started to come back to me over the past couple of years after a long time out. I was working in an antiques store and was inspired to start making jewellery from old cutlery, it is great because each item is unique and the design depends on what I find in local antiques stores. Many of these items are sold for scrap so it is nice to be able to give objects with history a new purpose. I decided to keep to working with solid silver because it is a nice metal to work with and the finished piece is a much higher quality. The rings are not 'closed' so it is relatively easy for me to adjust them, a ring being adjustable gives it more longevity for the wearer too as over time our fingers can change size.

I work in my garden studio near Cambridge, UK. Learning new skills is a passion of mine so expect to see more unusual silver creations in my shop!
