So just to tell you a bit about me and my educational back ground .
I moved to Cornwall in the early 1990’s where I study in Ceramics and learnt techniques and skills in working with clay on a two year course where I graduated with a Higher National Diploma in ceramics at Falmouth School of Art .
After completion of my two years in Falmouth I moved to the other end of the country and got accepted into Edinburgh School of Art , Scotland. There I studied for 4 years in Applied Arts. where I learnt Many skills and gained much knowledge in the Arts and Crafts and gained a BA Honours Degree in Applied Arts.
After student life I knew one thing and that is to help people , help and care for those in need and sickness.
So I joined the National Health Service I worked for the Trust for nearly 20 years as a nurse, caring for the elderly, end of life, surgical theatres , general medical wards .
In my years of nursing I took an interest in the Mental Health Sector of the National Health Service. The patients that I supported had a variety of mental health issue. I found that my skills and qualifications in the crafts and arts had become paramount in their treatment and therapy . I engaged the individuals in creativity of arts and crafts, this helped them on the road to recovery
I am also a qualified teacher and in the early 2000 I taught in the evenings young students with learning disabilities , mental health and challenging behaviour Arts and Literature at the local college. This was very full filling and also rewarding to see them blossom and graduate at the end of the academic year.
I now live in the heart of the cotswolds UK, I have been inspired by my surroundings, stunning landscapes, castles, cottages, medieval buildings, other unique arts. I want to bring these inspirations into your homes . Each every item I create is individual.
Much more to come
