Mixed media art , greetings cards, handmade soaps paw balm, and candles

I live in the Peak District. I am lucky to be able to paint and create art in a small stone annexe in my garden. It used to be a coffin makers workshop in the past. I create soaps and balms in my kitchen on the old Rayburn stove.

I seek inspiration from the countryside and the flowers, plants, trees and wildlife around me. When I go on holiday to the coast , understandably I am drawn then to scenes that I cannot experience at home, so the sea and boats often feature.

My real passion is for strongly contracted colours, and abstract or semi abstract paintings and collages. I like to explore the fluid properties of paint to create original art work and painted collages and Gelli prints.

I have mounted and framed original paintings for sale. Some originals have been used to create art prints. My fine art giclee prints are professionally produced on Hahnemule paper. Framing of limited edition art prints and larger originals is by Carole Knight at the Studio Gallery Brierlow. I frame small art works myself to keep costs down.

Some original art is used directly on greetings cards and makes a lovely original gift. Other paintings have been used to create professionally printed greetings cards.

The homemade beauty products all contain the finest ingredients, such as olive oil, coconut oil, soap base, apple cider vinegar, beeswax, shea butter, castille soap liquid, essential oils and herbs, oatmeal and calendula petals. organic where possible, all with no preservatives. I make paw balm for pets, lip balm and a range of fragrances in human and dog soaps. I also make small candles in soya wax during the winter months.
