Linoprints inspired by nature

I'm Bev.

I discovered lino printing a couple of Christmas' ago when my husband bought me a starter kit. I was hooked from the off and love the process involved. It always starts with an initial sketch, sometimes,es this can me quite rough and then the idea gets sketched onto lino quite quickly, other times the drawing can be quite detailed before it is then flipped and transferred to the lino.
I then carve away what I don't want to be printed, before inking the 'plate' (lino) and printing onto paper using a gorgeous hand made glass baren.
Every print made in the sway is unique.

I love nature and this is where most of my inspiration comes from. I'm based in Gateshead (a stones throw from the Angel of The North) and am lucky enough to have lots of woods and nature on the doorstep but nothing beats a trip to the Lakes and the open fells.
