Hello and thank you for visiting my shop. I am a full time maker based in beautiful Northumberland where I work from a studio at home. I mainly supply galleries and shops and also love to sell directly, it’s always nice to know where the work goes and specific colours can be requested that way. I also make to commission for special pieces so if you have an idea for a particular gift or treat for yourself, please do get in touch.
My venture into Arts & Crafts began in 2013 following a nursing career of almost 30 years. I work with my husband, sculptor Robin Fox from whom I have picked up my initial making skills, and then like all makers these have developed over time. It’s an ongoing learning process which is always interesting!
I love to create pieces in mixed media, mainly using versatile epoxy clays, silver/metal leaf, steel, hardwoods and beach cobbles. These materials give me scope to make many different animals and birds. Wherever possible I try to reuse/upcycle materials, including most of the packaging that I use – people are always saving empty boxes and inert packaging for me which is brill!
I want to make things that make me smile and that I find uplifting and hope that brings the same reaction from other people. I have always loved the natural world and am lucky to walk our Miniature Dachshund Beanie through the woods every day which continues to give me an appreciation of the natural beauty all around us and is always totally inspiring for my work.
