Cyanotype and mixed media art

I work from home using my garden as a studio and the sun as my light source. I create images with flowers that I grow and feathers that fall out of the sky.

My work is about a moment in time, a snap shot taken without a camera. These prints are made with sunlight, the solarisation produces a gorgeous, deep blue. I find that working with the cyanotype process creates images that are enigmatic and intuitive. Sometimes I add to the piece using Ecoline inks, it really depends on each one. As I work a title usually comes to me and then I work with that in mind.

Each finished piece is to me the essence of that day, the sunlight, the birdsong, the music I played are all present in some way.

In the wider world I campaign for equality, I am a member of The Women's Equality Party UK because I love and believe in, their Manifesto.
