Originally from a small seaside town in Devon I now live in North Yorkshire with my 2 sons.
Intrigued and inspired by my surroundings, My work is at times random, and emotional. Bursting with colour and boldness its sculptural and poetic form can take on many a diverse range.
Abstract, experimental and potentially dysfunctional, I am highly influenced by nature, specifically texture and tone, I likes to use organic materials in combination, such as foliage and wood intertwined with silver, copper and aluminium. My practice generally tends to be process led; where I like to play and evolve with a design, using techniques such as reticulation, drop casting, patination and etching.
I work from my home studio in North Yorkshire where I also teach silversmithing as part of The Wonky Jewellery Shed.
I studied at The Northern School of Art before training as an Art Tutor and Curator in Sunderland.
I work alongside my border collie Hugo and the myriad of chickens and cats.
People often ask me about the name 'The Wonky Jewellery Company' and all I can say is that having always been told I lack finesse, and the fact I still struggle to pierce a straight line after over 12 years of silversmithing, I decided to embrace my wonkiness. Encompassing a line of traditional hand tool methods and an organic feel to my designs, alongside a love and passion for all things unique and bespoke.
