Thank you for stopping and wander around my little shop!

My name is Lizzy, a Dutchie moved to the UK in 2015.
Since I was young I have always had a thing for all things quirky, old and second hand. I am a real treasure hunter and you can regularly find me nosing around charity-thrift shops, car boots, vintage , flea and collectors fairs all over the UK and The Netherlands. Growing up in a creative family my passion for handicraft and handmade products has always came naturally.

Traveling around the world on and off for just under a decade inspired my interest for creative upcycling. In the different parts of the world I’ve visited I have always been fascinated by how the local people make the most out of the resource’s they had to hand. A shower made out of a conch shell in Mexico, chandeliers made out of empty wine bottles in Indonesia, a barstool made out of driftwood in El Salvador and Flip flops made out of old tires in Myanmar.

It was on my travels where the idea of The VagabondHousehold was born. My passion for vintage and second hand combined with creative upcycling and handmade goods all come together in my shop.

Arriving in the UK after my travels I started The VagabondHosehold from a traditional English narrowboat while roaming around the canals of the UK. I have fond memories of those first years getting my hands sore and trying to find space for all my materials and flea market treasures on the boat.
