My wife first started making cards about 3 years ago having seen an article in the local paper. Although, before that, over the past 20 years she has been doing other arty things like glass painting, watercolour painting, crocheting, knitting as well as encaustic art. More recently, I have been involved in an effort to sell her goods to a wider audience as well as producing a lot of the typing business where personalised cards have been requested. At one stage we were involved with a pet shop and made cards with a pet fronting (which were mainly dogs) which gave us a steady amount of work each week by replacing the numbers with the occasional request for a particular breed. This came to a halt when to owners moved away and gave up their shop. We're now older, wiser and less busy but, more experienced and provide a small number of contacts with specialised products and requests. We are both in our 70's and although do not need or want too much business, we do need to keep active. So we try to keep ourselves busy by still producing and selling where we can.
