The Abandoned Canvas is a sustainable art project by Jessica Hooley developed around creating nature-based fine art using only recycled and second-hand materials.

Since relocating to the southwest coast in 2018, Jessica has embarked on a mission to change how art is made. From the cluttered chattels of a run-down house, rather than resigning the old contents of her new home to landfill, she repurposed the broken boards and discarded stationery into something beautiful once again.

Jessica's art is inspired by the natural world, from animals, botanicals, and the human form. Her authenticated prints are created using carbon-neutral printing on premium Hahnemühle paper and are carefully wrapped in 100% plastic-free packaging to make a completely sustainable offering.

Now working out of her North Devon studio, Jessica continues working on sustainable projects, commissions, and running her art blog, theabandonedcanvas.com, offering advice to artists and tips on living a beautifully eco-friendly life.
