About Sea Worn Jewellery

Sea Worn Jewellery

Handmade unique jewellery

Hi, I’m Jessica and I am the founder and designer of Sea Worn Jewellery.

I started making jewellery a few years ago after taking a short silversmithing course (as a way to relax from running a castle) and discovered a real passion for creating bespoke jewellery inspired by the natural world around me; my garden, the local coastline and the sea.
Since then I have enjoyed improving and learning new skills. I am now currently undertaking a fine jewellery diploma, which is really stretching me and inspiring lots of new ideas.

Ethics and Sustainablility Pledge
I particularly love working with sea glass as each piece is unique and has a hidden history that we'll just never know about! It's the best kind of recycling.
I have in the last used mined gemstones, but the more I learnt about the human and environmental impact of gemstone mining, the less comfortable I felt about using them. So I have discountined all gemstone jewellery.
However, in the last few years several initatives have begun which try to mitigate and change many of the harmful practises in gemstone mining. I have also discovered thst Britian produces a surprising and delightful range of gemstones, so I am reconsidering using some very carefully selected gems in the future.

Each piece of jewellery I make is lovingly handcrafted in my garden studio in Ramsgate (a converted Victorian outhouse! There's no loo in there anymore).

Each piece of jewellery comes in an eco-friendly recycled cardboard box and all other packaging is recycled or reused where possible.
I am also a plastic free champion as certified by Surfers Against Sewage - Plastic Free Communities.

I hope you enjoy browsing my latest range.

This is my first pair of thread earrings and I am thrilled. They are super light weight and easy to sleep in. The owner is a great communicator and I got my order very quickly.

We bought this for my cousin’s special birthday. She has fond memories of Ramsgate so it was perfect to get such a lovely gift that was made there. She was over the moon with it.
