I used to sell imported silver jewellery, much like many (many) other mums with a "side hustle". When that ended, I thought it would be nice to make my own silver jewellery - until I found out how much it was going to cost me! The raw materials were expensive enough, never mind the price for classes.
So, whilst rambling around on Pinterest one day, looking for something completely unconnected to jewellery, I came across a random search result - how to make jewellery out of tin boxes. A lightbulb moment occurred...
Many slashed fingers later, I worked out how to make pretty things from vintage tins, and four years on I think I've got it down to a fine art .... I still regularly have to get the plasters out though...!
Don't worry, every item is VERY carefully finished so that the only person that gets injured is me.
I work in the corner of my bedroom, much to my husband's eye-rolling despair, the tin piles fall over occasionally and wake us up, really should have a clear-out ...
We have two teenage daughters, a tiny old lady rabbit named Thelma, and an opinionated turquoise green-cheeked conure with a voice many times his own size, named Derek.
