I have been a painter since childhood, not formerly trained, my work, what I do and the way I do it has been developed over time.
Though I would say my main passion lies in art it does have a close runner up that being joinery, making wooden furniture items for the home, garden and garden features.
Having an interest in boats inspires to a large extent my paintings subject matter `( but not entirely ! ) and to some degree the furniture I make. I work from a small shop in the garden surrounded by the Kent countryside, its history ( both ancient and contemporary add their own elements of inspiration to the mix of my work. I live with my partner Kathy and we both have a love of dogs especially Boarder collies ( ours is a collie cross ), that of course gets worked into my paintings, as the main subject matter or a part of it.
producing things that people want is never simple or easy ( in my humble opinion ) so when given the opportunity to listen to what is, good things get created so please get in touch and let me know your ideas whether their based in art or furniture.
