Yarn and Fabrics Are My Passion, if I can Knit It, Crochet It, Weave It, Spin It, Sew It, then I Will Make It

Hi, I'm Julie, and I've been making yarny goodies for myself, family and friends as long as I can remember. Then a few years ago, following a chance to move away from the usual 9-5 routine, it meant I had the chance to enjoy my crafting full time.

My knitter mother taught me to knit at 7 years of age, I taught my self to crochet in my teens, and since then I've gone on to learn weaving, fibre preparation, spinning and dyeing. I love to use all types of fibres - from easy to use and easy care man-made yarns and fabrics, to the more luxury yarns such as sheep wool, alpaca, cottons & silks.

I design and make at home in my little Welsh Long Cottage in North West Wales, an amazing area rich in nature, ancient history and magical places. My work space is usually populated with yarn, materials, tools, my super supportive husband and my very special 'ginger ninja' cat called Ollie Cat. My creations vary from brooches and hair clips, to tote bags and handbags, scarves, shawls, gloves, hats, blankets and generally anything I fancy making from yarn or fabric.

Any spare time will see my husband and I walking along one of our many local beaches or taking a walk in nearby woodlands, (but Ollie Cat stays at home guarding his "castle"!). All these super places provide abundant inspiration for my work, with all the colours, shapes and textures the sea and countryside have to offer.
