Hi, I'm Jez and I live along with my wife Joy in the Derbyshire Peak District and I am an electrician by trade. While writing this I am accompanied by our gorgeous rescue greyhound Ruby, although Shadow would perhaps have been a more suitable name, as she never leaves my side and follows me everywhere.
I had a camera from an early age, have always enjoyed taking photos and I set up a darkroom in the bathroom back in my teens, to develop my own prints. We got married and brought up three wonderful children, but during this time my camera mainly got used for taking snap shots of the family. Fast forward a few years, kids all grown up, I decided to buy myself one of those newfangled digital cameras and give it a go again (although I always carry a film camera with me as well).
Inspiration does not always come easy for me, and in fact I can sometimes go out with a camera and get back home without even taking it out out of the bag. However sometimes a subject just seems to jump out to me, gets the serotonin going in my brain and it is those days that make it all worthwhile.
Lately I have been setting up a darkroom in my garage, and hopefully will soon be producing some limited edition print for sale.
When I am not out with my camera, I am usually to be found strumming a guitar and performing along with my wife at local open mic nights.
