Here are some things just listed by other crafters and sellers on Folksy.
My first job was as a Saturday Girl in a gorgeous card and gift shop. So things seem to have come full circle. I now work from home in beautiful Herefordshire producing designs for my cards, stationery, invitations and prints.
Having many years experience in the retail sector for some great companies, I truly understand the importance of customer service, quality and producing products that people enjoy using and receiving.
I sketch, design, paint and package everything from my kitchen. It truly is a Table Top Business. The designs are drawn in fine black pen and then brought to life with a variety of mediums such as watercolour, coloured pencils or collage, often all three. I am a self trained artist.
My inspiration comes from everyday life. My brother`s dog Bruno, a friends sausage dog and another friends very loud shirt, have all been translated in some form or other into my illustrations. Ideas often start of as one image and end up totally different. I think it's fascinating how your mind can keep working on a design without you realising it!
The illustrations are emailed to my very excellent and patient local printers, who spend time and effort making sure the papers, cards and quality of each item is just right.
It is important to me that I supply beautifully presented cards of the best quality at high street prices.
The quality of the coloured envelopes I supply is totally different to the mass market choice. They have a weighty feel.
The coloured envelopes are supplied by GF Smith Papers who are undoubtedly the best. They are bright and cheerful. The colour selection for each card is carefully chosen to compliment each design.
As I said, my illustrations each have a story behind them and are borne out of a quirky sense of humour, childhood memories and the environment I live in. The drawings make people smile which I think is the nicest compliment.
"A hand written card or note has a different kind of intention than a text or an email. To send somebody a personally chosen card is something that celebrates friendship and the special occasions we toast in life."
In a world of immediate texts and emails, how lovely it is when somebody takes the time to choose you a card and write a personal note. Let`s get back into the habit!
Best wishes
