Shop Announcement:

Welcome to Jackdaw Bindery - thank you so much for visiting! Here you will find a wonderful selection of hand-bound soft cover leather and cork wrap journals and sketchbooks, created using a range of hand selected materials. Each and every item that you find in my shop has been hand-bound by myself in my little studio in West Ashling, West Sussex on the South Coast of England.

All of the leather I use have been sourced as a by-product from the upholstery and automotive trade which may otherwise end up as waste. If you have an idea for a custom book, I would love work with you to create the perfect handbound journal for your needs, just get in touch and we can go from there!

Hey, I'm Louise - Bookbinder and general lover of all things creative!

I make soft cover leather bound journals, all kinds of journals for all kinds of people. I'm proud to call this my full time job and there's nothing more beautiful than someone asking what I do, and being able to say I'm a bookbinder - how romantic and old-fashioned is that! Most day's you can find me binding away in my studio and when I've got time I love to experiment with one-off journal ideas.

If I'm not binding I do love most other creative adventures. In the past I've been a photographer, another time a seamstress and I just love experimenting with different materials and making anything and everything.

I hope you enjoy my work, I love what I do and wouldn't change it for the world ♥

Buying from me

Here at Jackdaw Bindery you will find a wonderful selection of hand-bound soft leather wrap journals and sketchbooks created using a range of hand selected papers and leathers.

All of the leather I use have been sourced as a by-product from the upholstery and automotive trade which may otherwise end up as waste.

Returns Policy

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.

REFUNDS:
I take pride in my work and put 100% into what I do. However, if you're not satisfied with your order, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. The item to be returned must be returned in it's original unused and resalable condition, in it's ORIGINAL packaging and clearly marked as a return to it's country of origin. Return postage is the buyers responsibility and you must obtain proof of posting. Once the item has been returned and is in a re-sale-able condition, I will issue a full refund via your original payment method within 12 days of receiving the item back.

If an item arrives in less than perfect condition, please contact me within 14 days of receiving your purchase to arrange a return. Please understand that custom orders are non-returnable unless they are faulty.

EXCHANGES:
Jackdaw Bindery happily accepts exchanges within 14 days of receiving your order. This can be initiated via email to dearestjackdaw@gmail.com - The item to be exchanged must be returned in it's original unused and resalable condition, in it's ORIGINAL packaging and clearly marked as a return to it's country of origin. Please understand that the buyer is responsible for shipping costs both ways.
