Original Hand Dyed Rope Bowls, Felting and Textile Artwork

I dye natural fabrics of silk, linen and cotton scrim use these to layer with wool fibres and may incorporate a piece of tweed from a jacket or tear a strip from an old skirt.
Free motion embroidery finishes my landscape gives it depth and adds the detail.

Inspiration is all around, it only takes a moment to be inspired.

The Devon Landscape is a mix of hedgerows, farmed fields, woodlands and grand estates.
Ever changing with the seasons.
Travelling in the car or by bus, its all too fleeting and the image has passed.

I use my love of colour and texture to evoke a memory spent watching the sea roll in to shore, storm building on the horizon or the ever changing beauty of the countryside.

I have developed a process of dying lengths of rope which I machine stitch into bowls and dishes.
These are very decorative and useful each one us unique.
