Here are some things just listed by other crafters and sellers on Folksy.
I started 'crafting' in 2012 while I was on long term sick from my job in retail, to wile away some of the boredom from being at home all day. My daughter was having nightmares following being electrocuted. I tried to find a dream catcher for her, but at the time there were none available in the shops, so I decided to attempt to make one for her instead. When it was complete my son decided he wanted it instead, so I ended up making a second one, this time for my daughter.
Albeit having a 'crafting' mother, whilst growing up I didn't enjoy the numerous crafts we were 'made' to do. However, after making these two dream catchers the bug bit, and I found myself online doing hours and hours of research, looking for the best materials to use to make more dream catchers with a view to selling them. The more I made, the more adventurous I got with them, adding beads and charms, and then widening my range of items by making dream catcher keyrings and bracelets as well. I found my brain was always ticking over with new ideas that I could incorporate into them, and then to other items I could start making.
After being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Arthritis, in August 2020, and finding I couldn't return to work, I decided to start a business selling my crafts makes online. I added numerous products to my catalogue of goods, but decided that what I really wanted to do was to get an embroidery machine. When I checked out the prices I realised that I wouldn't be able to afford one for a while so carried on making the items I was already doing. Over the years though I found that I was struggling to do as much with my hands as I had been doing, as the Arthritis I had, originally in my shoulder, had started in my hands as well. I took the plunge and purchased my first embroidery machine in February 2020. It was the best thing I did since making that first dream catcher.
April 2022 I decided it was time to stop making all non-embroidered items, and concentrate just on the embroidery side of things. although since then I have restarted selling needle minders again after a couple of customers who had purchased them in the past asked if I was still making them as they would really like another one.
I love what I do. Every item is made to order, so you can be assured that your item is made with you in mind, rather than a mass produced item that is made by someone that has made umpteen others of the same thing that day. Even when I have orders for the same item I pour the same amount of love into each one, as if each one is the first one I have made. I purchase the best products I can for all items as I feel that the only way to achieve 100% satisfaction with each item is to put into it what I would expect if I was purchasing it.
