Original and Bespoke Button Art - Buttonfly Art

Having a child completely changes your outlook and perspective on pretty much everything and that is the main reason I find myself where I am today. I never really considered myself to have an arty bone in my body and then our beautiful daughter came along and as she has grown and I have sat with her in the midst of a crafty mess, I discovered that I do actually love it.
There is something really magical about watching a child take the barest of materials and make something beautiful from nothing, and seeing the wonder in their eyes as your praise them for their beautiful masterpiece.... And this is ultimately why I am setting out on my own artistic adventure.
I have had a love of words, books and reading since a very young age and incorporate this into my pieces through the use of inspiring and uplifting quotes and images, where possible.
I love giving presents that mean something to the people I love, and hope that by purchasing a gift from my shop, you will be able to do the same with the special people in your life.

Before branching out into this venture I worked in Administration roles for various companies and during this time learnt the importance of attention to detail, flexibility and excellent customer service skills. This work also equipped me to work to tight deadlines, without compromising the quality of work a customer would receive, and the same holds true today.
Previous to this I gained a BA Degree through Oxford Brookes University in Sociology and also completed a Diploma in Introduction to Counselling Studies which I passed with distinction. Most recently I have become a qualified proofreader.

I feel extremely lucky and blessed to have a beautiful home, a beautiful marriage, a loving and supportive family, some very special lifelong friends and an amazingly beautiful little girl and it is whilst taking a career break to care for her that I decided to take a leap of faith and attempt to set this shop up. In so many ways she was my inspiration as I want her to grow up knowing that you can be and do anything you want to, and for her to eventually aspire for a career she herself loves.

I am a homebody who likes the simple things in life; weekends, a bike ride in the country, the beauty of nature and seeing things grow from nothing in the garden, the feel of the sun on my back, the feel of sand between my toes, good food, a book you can't put down, music and words that inspire and touch the soul, the theatre, travel and seeing new countries and cultures, time spent with family and friends and laughter (especially children's).
A few of my favourite things include butterflies, elephants, sunflowers and ice cream.
