Playing with dyes, stepping back and watching the magic happen.

I work with textile , exploring the relationship between dyes and material. Experimenting with barriers and the flow of the dyes, watching the colours merge and blend, living their own life - Art's Magic! I studied community art and love working with people, this love of working with communities took me to Cambodia where I co-founded Grace House Community Centre www.gracehousecambodia.net bringing education and sustainability to a rural community and children with a disability. While in Cambodia trips to Malaysia involved workshops in Shibori and Batik at the Textile Museum in Kuala Lumper.

Now living back in UK I am developing my art. Batik, is my preferred medium and I am a member of the Batik Guild. My work is inspired by living in the beautiful area of AONB on the Hartland peninsula in North Devon. The images and memories of Cambodia also continue to sneak into my work. I love working with dyes, using indigo and proton dyes to produce individual scarves and household items. I use Shibori techniques so no two pieces are the same
