About this item
Intended to communicate a sense of wonder and magic, I created "Lunar Hare Arisen" with soft pastels and coloured pencils on toned paper. In many ancient cultures and traditions, hares symbolise fertility and rebirth, as does the moon! In my illustration, the two are one. Card size is 126mm by 175mm, portrait, comes with a white envelope, and is enclosed in a clear cello slip. The inside of the card is blank, so can be given at any time of the year. The last image shows the back of the card. The video gives a glimpse of me at work on this drawing. I do lots of drawing and smudging with soft, chalky pastels and then bring out a lot of the details with coloured pencils. This unique and mystical illustration is also included in my 2027 wall calendar, which can be found elsewhere in my shop (in two sizes)!
