About this item
I was inspired to make this piece when I found a pile of Oak branches on a morning walk foraging for Cleavers. I like bringing found, natural elements into my pieces. This piece was inspired by the colours I saw around me on my walk, the browns of the rich woodland soil, the leather brown of Oak buds waiting for Spring and last year's deep burgundy Hawthorn berries dried and forgotten. Hand woven with a knitters needle, this is a slow, intuitive process, blending colour and texture to create a piece that is unique. I have added Silver Birch catkins from the tree in my garden, a pair of Oak 'cups' and some wooden beads to emphasise the connection to the woods. Length: 40cm Width at widest point: 18cm
