The popular belief about St Valentine is that he was a 3rd century priest from Rome; Emperor Claudius II had banned marriage because he thought married men made bad soldiers. Valentine felt this was unfair, and arranged marriages in secret. When Claudius found out, Valentine was thrown in jail and sentenced to death.
He fell in love with the jailer's daughter and when he was taken to be executed on 14 February , he sent her a love letter signed "from your Valentine".

Full description
Red copper heart shapes hanging from handmade sterling silver earhooks . The copper has been heated to create luscious red tones and measures 20mm in length.
The dangle is about 31mm/ 1.25 inches from the top of the ear hook.
Posted in a good quality recycled cardboard box, tied with raffia ribbon, ready to give.
