About this item
Fragments and shapes from seashore rocks and pools inspired this abstract pendant. The orange beach plastic pebble was picked up from where it had washed up, buffed and smoothed over many years, kept and cleaned for re-use. I have anodised and dyed aluminium to echo the colours in the pool, it has been hand-cut into a pebble shape with a jewellery piercing saw and textured with fragments of my favourite sea-shore poetry. The two silver elements suggest the eroded patterns in some interesting rocks I saw at a Cornish beach. All the pieces have been connected together and hung on a mustard coloured, strong silk cord which is adjustable up to a 72cm total length through a simple sliding mechanism. I absolutely loved designing and making this one-of-a-kind pendant, I hope you love it too. Your jewellery is presented in a little drawstring bag, wrapped in tissue and delivered in a box with care instructions and my own imagery, sent via Royal Mail tracked 48hr service (UK). Packaging: Paper and card packaging is made from sustainable source recycled pulp fibres. Little drawstring bags are sustainable source recycled Fair Trade Cotton. Mailing bags are made from cornstarch, not plastic! All packaging is home-compostable and recyclable. I have a zero-waste approach to chemicals and processes in my workshop, which are always re-balanced, topped up and re-used.

Caring for your jewellery: Your dyed aluminium jewellery will not need any additional care, but to maintain the vibrancy of the colour, simply store it out of direct sunlight. To keep your silver, copper and brass jewellery from oxidising (going very dark) don’t allow your jewellery to come into contact with cleaning products, chlorinated water, perfumes or lotions. Give the metal jewellery a regular buff with a jewellery polishing cloth to maintain shine or use an old toothbrush and some silver polishing cream then buff (protect your sea-glass from the cream by covering it with masking tape). To revive the vibrancy and translucence of your sea-glass, simply apply a miniscule smidge of baby oil onto the glass with a lint-free cloth (this will not tarnish your metal) then wipe away any excess. If your item has a silk or waxed cotton cord, it will come already coated with a protective coat of non-toxic micro-crystalline wax to keep it clean.
