Full description
Dainty, lightweight Amethyst, Angelite and sterling silver earrings.
Each earring features a 6mm Angelite bead topped with a 4.5mm faceted Amethyst, 3mm faceted Angelite and 3mm Amethyst bead, all separated by tiny 1.8mm sterling silver spacers.
Amethyst is the purple form quartz, the birthstone for Aquarius and February and the stone for the 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.
Amethyst is also associated with St Valentine.
It was believed he wore an amethyst ring engraved with a cupid to enable young soldiers to recognise him.
Emperor Claudius 11, believing married men made bad soldiers, had forbidden soldiers to wed, but Valentine would conduct secret marriage ceremonies.
Angelite is a pale blue form of Gypsum, also known as Angel Stone.
It is a soothing, calming stone, thought to enhance spiritual awareness.
The beads are threaded onto sterling silver pins and hung from sterling silver ear-wires which are stamped '925'.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, these would make a lovely gift for a birthday, anniversary, Valentine or Mother's Day, or a treat for yourself.
These gemstone earrings measure approximately 1 inch (2.5cm), excluding the ear-wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in an organza gift bag.
