About this item
A beautifully simple chopping board, handcrafted from solid iroko in our family-run Yorkshire workshop. Designed to showcase the natural character of the wood, each board has a clean, timeless finish and can be personalised with your choice of engraving. The warm colouring and distinctive grain of iroko make every board completely unique. PLEASE NOTE this listing is for a small chopping board (240x160x20mm) but also available in a medium (300x220x20mm) and large (450x300x30mm) OR your desired bespoke size, these boards are suitable for everyday food preparation, serving and displaying in the kitchen. Please view other listings on my page for different size. Iroko is a durable hardwood known for its warm golden-brown colouring and attractive natural grain. As wood is a natural material, every board will vary slightly in colour, grain and markings. These differences are part of the character of each handmade piece and mean no two boards will be identical. summer seconds

Handmade from solid iroko wood with contrasting walnut and beech detailing. Designed for use as a chopping, preparation or serving board. Before first use, wash the board by hand with warm water and mild washing-up liquid, then dry immediately. Do not soak, place in a dishwasher or leave near direct heat, as this may cause the natural wood to warp, split or crack. Use the board on a clean, dry and stable surface. Take care when using sharp knives. Inspect regularly and stop using the board if it develops deep cracks, loose sections, splinters or other damage. Not suitable for use in an oven, microwave or over a direct heat source. Keep away from naked flames. To maintain the board, re-oil when the wood begins to look or feel dry, using an oil specifically suitable for wooden food-contact surfaces. Allow it to dry fully before using it again. Wood is a natural material, so variations in colour, grain and pattern are expected and are not faults.
