About this item
"Lost in the Firmament (after Flammarion)" Screenprint, on paper, 2011, signed and dated, numbered 1/1, with full margins, available framed or unframed. Artwork Size: 23.2 x 32.4 in. (59 x 82.5 cm.) Framed Size: 23.2 x 32.4 in. (59 x 82.5 cm.) Available unframed or framed (in various different options). Frames are made to order by Frames Express; if I don t have one in stock, it may take a few days to arrive. The design was derived from tintin comic front covers in the Ligne claire (clear line) style pioneered by Herg . The Flammarion Engraving and ancient Gardens of Nineveh also have a huge presence in this piece, decorated with signature elements from Cecil Collins and Samuel Palmer. It depicts a man who has reached the edge of the firmament (a celestial barrier), a metaphorical illustration for the mystical quests for knowledge... or to represent a psychedelic experience.
