Full description
The Returning Wolf is a Shrine for Reclamation.
She belongs to the season of rediscovery; the moment when responsibilities shift, children need us less, and we begin to hear our own voice more clearly again. She honours instinct, independence and boundaries, celebrating the woman who is not becoming someone new, but returning to the self she has carried quietly within her all along.
Part artwork, part keepsake and part companion, this one-of-a-kind textile shrine opens to reveal a hidden sanctuary containing an embroidered oak branch nestled within a soft felt-lined chamber.
Handmade in my Leicestershire garden studio, each Curious Shrine is created slowly using painted and dyed fabric, hand embroidery, decorative stitching, felt, glass gems, mirrors and mixed media embellishments. No two shrines will ever be exactly alike.
The wolf represents instinct, courage and reclaiming lost parts of ourselves. Oak leaves and acorns symbolise endurance, wisdom and rooted strength. The moon and stars speak of intuition, cycles and trusting the path ahead. Opening the shrine becomes a small act of remembrance; an invitation to return to the woman who has always been waiting beneath the roles and responsibilities.
Curious Shrines are inspired by folklore, the turning year and the changing seasons of a woman's life. They are intended as small stitched sanctuaries, offering a place for story, reflection and everyday magic.
Approximate size: 20-22 cm high, 13-15 cm wide and 3 cm deep.
Your shrine will arrive wrapped in tissue paper within a sturdy kraft presentation box and includes a printed story card and artist information card.
Price includes tracked UK postage.
