40th Birthday Card; Fused Glass 40th Anniversary Keepsake

This 40th card is a great little gift and card in one to celebrate a 40th birthday or a ruby anniversary. The card contains a vibrant red fused glass '40' keepsake which can be detached from the card and displayed as a permanent memento of the occasion and reminder of the person that gifted it. It's an ideal combination of a card and present in one for when you want to send a little more than just a card. I've created the number 40 using transparent red coloured glass dots with a splash of teal green glass to decorate the background. Fusing it all on to clear glass allows the light to really enhance the colours. PLEASE NOTE: I've noticed on the close-up photo of the keepsake that there are 3 dots in the 40 that are a slightly pinky tone of red! This is a great albeit unwanted example of how some glass colours change in the kiln although it's not apparent before firing. In view of this I've discounted the price of this card. It has a red coloured ribbon to hang it by. Not including cutting the glass and creating the decoration, the process of fusing and cooling the piece takes about 24 hours to ensure that the glass doesn't crack. The keepsake measures approximately 5cm square. The card is 13.5cm square. Please be aware that due to variations in screen displays, the colours may appear slightly different in person to the photos you see on your screen.
