About this item
This alluring tealight holder depicts the legend of the moon-gazing hare. Hares have a long history as a sacred animal and are associated with new beginnings, regrowth and good fortune. The "moon-gazing hare" came about from the historical belief of hares being captivated by the moon which if you witnessed would bring abundance and good fortune. The striking streaky blue glass background brings this picture an ethereal quality and a completely unique image as the pattern in the glass is never repeated. I designed and created the image of the hare and flora on the background glass tile before fusing and cooling in my kiln for a period of 24hours. The tile measures c.10cm wide by 13cm tall and 5.5cm deep with the tealight holder which makes it completely free-standing and so can be displayed anywhere in the home. Please be aware that due to variations in screen displays, the colours may appear slightly different in person to the photos you see on your screen.
