Can't make Russian Dolls (Matryoshka to give them their proper name) without coming over all Kate Bush and singing "Babushka ya ya"....
These little brooches morphed away from the traditional headscarf and headed towards the flower crowns, which turned into these big gold headdresses. They are happy, and so am I, and so, I hope, are you!
Felt backed, their faces are all individually drawn, painted and stitched. The headdresses two - no two will be identical. A little piece of wearable textile art.
PS: Apparently young Kate didn't know that the word actually meant Granny
