Chevron Amethyst, also known as Dog Tooth, is a variety of amethyst that’s mixed with layers of quartz to give the distinctive white V shape within the stone. Amethyst’s name derives from the Greek word ‘amethystos’, literal translation ‘not intoxicated’! This is linked to the ancient Greek legend where the goddess Diana protected young Amethyst from Bacchus, the god of wine after she rejected his advances. Amethyst is often associated with helping maintain mental clarity and physical energy.
