Damaged Side Plate Discovered Penrith, Cumbria October 2023 Handcrafted into Pendant September 2025 I visited Penrith October 2023, a lovely market town in Cumbria where I bought a small box of lovely but damaged side plates. Pretty forget-me-not flower design but sadly very scratched in places. I gently clipped the rough edges from one small piece and hand sanded the sides and back. This started to create a round shape perfect for a pendant tray. Over a course of a few days I used a small polishing strip to bring out the shine on the glaze. The idea is to create something new from old and use recycled materials to produce individual, distinctive gifts. One off jewellery, completely unique in every way. The finished piece isn't meant to be perfect but instead retain part of the original character, including marks and scratches, all part of the history of the materials used. Ceramic and Sterling Silver is either recycled or repurposed and might show tiny marks left by the process of creation. Hanging on 18 inch recycled sterling silver chain. Set in 13 mm recycled silver bezel tray. Both polished and hallmarked 925. Delivered in gift box made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Presented on Jewellery box insert made from tall oil, a by-product of paper production. Complete with short bio and FSC®-certified gift bag. All materials used are from sustainable sources and can be recycled.
