Goldstone Torque Necklace, handmade

Goldstone is a man-made gemstone, but is nonetheless a stunner! The sparkle and glitter the stones give off is off the scale, and it's no wonder it remains a firm favorite for artisan jewellery. Goldstone is made from glass where the glass is fired with minute particles of copper. The copper easily survives the high temperatures but the almost mica size particles provide an intense 'glitter' effect inside the glass. The glass itself is usually coloured, with the reddish-brown variety proving the most popular. I have used Reddish-brown and Navy Goldstone to make this fabulous torque necklace. It is hand-sewn with a seed-beading technique which results in a tubular formation making it sofdt and slinky, and perfect for a torque style necklace. The intense glitter of the piece doesn't really show up in the photos, but oh boy, its certainly there! The torque has a metal core which means it will always keep its shape and will fit a neckline from 16 inches to 18 inches. It comes fitted with a gold-plated lobster
