Everyone's idea of fairy toadstools - red, spotty and poisonous - but very pretty!
Nestled amidst fallen leaves, embroidered under the boughs of this oak tree, the toadstools are created from tiny scraps of embroidered felt. The woodland floor, and the distant stubble field, are appliqueed scraps of cotton fabric. The autumn sky is a small scrap of hand made felt. The design is framed by couched yarns in autumn colours.
The brooch is stiffened by re-cycled plastic cut from a bottle. The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
Diameter: 5.5 cm approx.
