Full description
I created my little paper animals, hand made from recycled books, to decorate my home and bookshelves. They are intended to be three-dimensional "drawings" - I don't use any pattern or wire structure beneath the papier-m ch . Each one is therefore unique and has its own character. These little paper penguins with hand-painted markings and expression are exactly the decoration I would love to have on my Christmas mantel or in my home all year round.

My little animal models are inspired by the stories I tell myself when I walk in the forest near my home and my childhood toys. I created these unusual, quirky sculptures because I wanted to decorate my bedroom with little woodland creatures, crooked wooden houses and miniature Canadian log cabins. I build these from recycled vintage book pages - I do not use any wire structure underneath, each sculpture is built entirely from the paper. I paint each animal carefully by hand. Each sculpture is unique in shape, appearance and character.
My animals are completely solid once all the layers of glue and paint are dry - they are light, not heavy to hold. They are robust and do not break if dropped.
