About this item
These little Keepsake Hedgehogs, have been carefully handcrafted and textured using earthenware buff clay. After dryng they recieve a first firing in the kiln, then layers of coloured stains are painted on to enhance the fine textures of the body and face, before finally being dipped into a clear glaze, which will give the whole piece a glossy, tactile finish after a glaze firing. These ceramic Hedgehogs are similair, but with very slight variations due to being hand made and painted, making each one unique. Complete in its own sturdy box, decorated with a ceramic butterfly and leaves containing a story scroll, telling a short tale of Hedgehog Folklore and conservation, inserted into a pottery leaf. The Hedgehog measures approx 5.5cm at longest point approx 4 cm width and approx 3 cm in height, with a pleasing weight in the hand.
