I designed this quilt pattern to represent the drift lines you find on the shore, detailing the ebb and flow of the tide. The quilt pattern is a version of a coin quilt and is constructed using strips of fabric to create wonky fabric coins.

Full description

This is an original 12 page paper pattern with full colour photographs providing step-by-step instructions to make this beautiful quilt. The finished quilt will be approximately 60 inches square and is constructed using scraps or fabric strips to make stacks of wobbly, off-set fabric “Coins”. To make this quilt, you will need:

31 strips, each 2 and a half ins wide, cut across the width of fabric (assume fabric width of 42 inches), or equivalent in fabric scraps

2 metres (m) of plain or tone-on-tone fabric for the background

3.6 m of fabric for the backing

0.5 m of fabric for the binding

Wadding (72ins by 74 ins) – cotton or natural materials are preferred

This listing is for the pattern ONLY and NOT the finished quilt.

The pattern is suitable for beginner to intermediate quilters.
