Inspired by the sandy beaches of Orkney The single strand cotton sews as size 16 perle embroidery thread in a beautiful range of variegated colours. The mercerised cotton gives a subtle sheen whilst being very strong and resistant to fluffing. As a professional hand embroidery studio, we select only the highest quality threads and wind them ourselves as a continuous length. There are no knots or joins. Size 16 perle threads are not easy to find and they lend themselves well to all embroidery techniques including cross stitch, blackwork, needlepoint, fine Hardanger, pulled or drawn thread work and other counted stitch techniques.
