The shingle beach at Dungeness is a forever changing landscape. Boats age and fall in to disrepair and new ones appear. The old wooden boats are fading from use and are being replaced by fibre glass hulls. It is a working beach almost industrial with fishermen's tackle, nets and assorted rusted machines littering the beach.
The coastal light plays over these objects and creates moods that I like to capture. The sea is often turquoise with a threatening deep blue sky behind. But this beached boat looked serene bathed in the light of late afternoon sun.
