About this item
Made from time softened and re-purposed vintage furnishing fabrics, the Joyce needlecase is the perfect place to store a selection of sewing needles, and gives any workbox a little vintage aesthetic. The main fabric is a vintage floral print on a pale acqua background.. Inside is a piece of vintage wool fabric that has been hand embroidered with a blanket stitch to prevent any fraying . Between the outer and lining fabric is a piece of wadding made from natural fibres so the needlecase is nice and plump. Needles can also be pinned to the lining, the layer of wadding will help prevent them poking through to the front. The wool page inside is ideal for storing a variety of different needles, from heavier darning and tapestry needles, through to extra fine straw and milliners needles. The case is kept closed with a pair of hand sewn vintage snap fasteners. The needlecase measures approx 19 x 10 cm when open (7.5 x 4 inches) 9 x10 cm when closed (3.5 x 4 inches) Please note this listing is for one Joyce needlecase only and does not include any of the other items. Many of the things I make get given names after people I know, mostly because I find it helps me keep track of the different variations of wraps and bags that I offer. Joyce was a dearly loved family friend who had the most beautiful cottage garden,with flower beds full of old roses . Whenever I use these floral prints I think of her and her much missed garden. Old and worn fabric that has so much memory and is all full of story often gets put away, forgotten about, these needle wraps have been made to remember and cherish, to be used and not kept for best or fancy. Please note that while the fabric is carefully sourced, and then washed, the fabric used is salvaged and re-purposed and may have some marks and wear on the fabric often found on vintage linens. During higher tiers and lockdowns, I am listing a longer than usual time allowance for posting although items are generally posted within a few days.
