About this item
This beautiful hair slide or shawl pin has been hand woven from copper wire. I've used fairly thick wire for the main slide - weaving three lengths together with an intricate pattern, & then forming a figure-of-eight finished with spirals in the middle. The pin has been made from a hammered twisted length of thick wire, with loops at the top to stop it going all the way through the slide. It will securely hold a shawl or long hair, with the twists on the pin helping it to click into place when the slide is full. I've oxidised the finished piece to antique the copper & highlight the detail in the weave. The slide measures 5.5cm long, 2.5cm wide & about 1.5cm deep. It can be reshaped if required - gently ease the edges out to make a longer, shallower slide, or push the edges in to make it shorter but deeper. The pin measures 8.5cm long. It will be posted out first class, in a 100% recycled (& recyclable!) gift box, within a recycled polythene bag.
