About this item
An ornamental hangar hand stitched from felt and embellished with embroidery. The felt is made from recycled post consumer plastic bottles and is a lovely soft but strong and fade-resistant material. The eye has a black ceramic bead in the centre surrounded by a deep orange coloured ring - a distinctive feature of our wild hares. There is a little cream tail, and of course those big noticeable ears. The loop for hanging is ribbon. I don't know where he's going in such a hurry! He measures about 9.5cms back paw to front and 7.5cms ear tip to paw. The loop is just over 7.5cms. There's a little bit of filling in the body. The hare is not a toy but would make a lovely gift for a nature watcher, a fan of Hares, or someone who loves pretty things.

I think hares are well deserving of their reputation for intelligence and mystery. I used to watch them in a secret grassy meadow near our home when I was a child, not appreciating at the time how lucky I was, just loving the sight. Since then, and now in a different part of the county, I have only caught a few rare glimpses of a hare, stalking across a gateway on one occasion. Anyway I thought I'd make something to remind me of these lovely creatures.
