About this item
This is a variation on the traditional Dorset cross wheel button that I usually make. The design was strongly influenced by a war time memory of my mother who said that they used to make something similar to brighten an outfit in austere times. This brooch is quite chunky but not too heavy to put on a collar or cardigan. It is worked on a wooden ring and measures 5.5 cm across. The ring is covered in a jade green cotton thread and the posy blossoms are worked in French knots in tropical shades of pink, orange and yellow. The second image shows colours best. The brooch fastens with a simple brooch pin that has been securely attached to the reverse.

If you were going for upgrades, I would suggest more colour photos, to make it easier to see the detail and or instructions for non-traditional effects
